Access to Christ

Tammy Bruni

I love the Word of God, it is full of nuggets but we have to find them by spending time in the Word. We need to engage our spirit in this process in order to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes our soul gets in the way of spiritual things because it often seeks an explanation for unexplainable things. This blocks the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

John 8v16 says this "And yet if I do judge, My judgement is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father, who sent me."

This is a profound statement and in it lies an incredible key. Jesus is on the earth and He is speaking to the Pharisees, yet He is saying I am not alone, but I am with my Father. What He is saying is that He is both on earth and with His Father in heaven. This is His witness. This is only possible in the spirit through our spirit. We are spiritual beings. Can you grasp that this is the way we need to live - in two dimensions? If we can grasp this, we will be able to fully access all we need and all that the Father has made available for us. Our spirit will be more in control of our executive functioning than our soul. And we know that whatever is going on in the soul will affect our bodies.

Ephesians 1v3 say "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ".

When Jesus died, He gave us access to heavenly places in Him through His spirit. In the natural, we cannot access this, only with our spirit can we do this through Him who dwells in us. In 2 Corinthians 13v5 Paul asks the Corinthians “Or do you not realize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?”.

Galatians 1v15-16 "But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called by His grace, to reveal His Son in me.

So, with Jesus in us, does this not mean we have the same access and ability as Jesus? We need to open our spiritual eyes and ears to these truths so that we are not limited by our souls. John 8v31 says, "If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples and you will know the truth and the truth shall make you free". This correlates to John 14v15 & 23 that says, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."....."If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him".

Can you understand how incredible this is? If Jesus and the Father, with the Holy Spirit, make their home in us, then do we not have access to all that is in Their home? Because it is ours too! We always have access to Him - we can choose this access by acknowledging our status as spirit beings. We also see in the above verses that this is contingent on keeping His Word and loving Him. Everything flows out of love - if we love Him, we are more likely to keep His Word. If we are trying to keep the Word but have no love or hope that by being "religious", He will love us, we miss it! Love comes first in all things. The law brings death but the Spirit brings life (2 Corinthians 3v6). If we have an outflowing of love inside of us, we will treat others with love and respect, we will love others out of His love in us. They will see us in a different "light" - pardon the pun! This is the agape love of God.

But let us in closing come back to v31. We see that our freedom lies in abiding in His Word. This is where we find the nuggets we need that pertain to our life in the Spirit (and in the spirit realm). It brings truth to the areas of our lives that need adjustment. These are the soul areas that block our freedom and the spirit areas that need to grow. We need to allow His Word to wash, cleanse and heal these areas so we can come into alignment in the correct order: spirit first, soul and body. In this way, we can align with His Spirit. Our soul has to submit. So work on the areas in your life that need attention and make choices to respond rather out of the love of God or "what would Jesus do" rather than let the soul be in charge.

We can bring destruction into our lives and relationships with an out-of-control soul, and lose the essence of these amazing promises that God has given us in His Word. Build your spirit, bless your spirit so that it can help you to receive all that is yours in Christ. We need to continue growing in all these areas so we can go from glory to glory.

Job 32v8 "But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding".

Romans 8v9 "However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God]." AMP

Galatians 5v16 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh".

John 4v24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Bless you today in the mighty name of Yeshua!
